The Wall = 1, Emme = 0

I've never seen anyone walk right into a wall the way she did. Amazing. Luckily, her dome bounces back rather quickly, and fruit snacks & snuggles heal the soul.

Sprinklers & The Garden

We're always looking for after-dinner festivities to keep this child entertained. Turning on a sprinkler and then laying on the grass while she runs through it has been a favorite of ours this summer, for sure.

And yes, we are THAT family that lets their child run through them in just a diaper. But we usually stick to the back yard, if that's any consolation.

We got a little more serious about our garden this year than we have in years past. After three failed attempts at growing our own tomatoes, Chris enlisted the help of his friend Sam to make things happen. And it's looking great so far!

We have an Early Girl tomato plant...

A Roma tomato plant...

Another variety I can't remember...

And a tomatillo plant...

Plus a Zucchini plant... (I highly recommend the Chocolate Zucchini Bread recipe from the Our Best Bites cookbook!)

And we've got four pepper plants. Our tomatoes have been a little slow to come on but we've had real live homegrown crop from our own yard already and it's amazing! I don't know what it is about tomatoes fresh from the yard, but they can't be beat.

While You Were Sleeping

While I was sick for many weeks, I did a lot of laying on the couch. One morning Emme woke up earlier than usual, so I stumbled out to the family room with her in my unisom-induced haze, and turned on a cartoon before I promptly fell back asleep on the couch.

I awoke to her yelling "help," and this is what I found....

I'm not exactly sure how she stacked the chairs like that all by herself, and then managed to climb all the way on top of them. But I think it scared her sufficiently enough that she hasn't done it again since. Phew!

Join Samantha's Fight!

This summer, in addition to being sick and pregnant, I've been helping plan a fundraiser for my sweet 7 year old neighbor, Samantha, who has cancer. It's been incredibly fulfilling and incredibly busy!

Her event takes place this Saturday in Herriman (click the flier for the address). There will be dinner, a bake sale, live and silent auctions, and entertainment by Big Budah! Plus, the kids corner (which is what I have been in charge of) is going to be amazing. We will have face painting, balloon animals, carnival food & games, a bouncy slide, a petting zoo & reptile show, and much more.

So if you're around on Saturday night and looking for something to do, come support a great cause and have fun in the process!

{Look at that sweet face!}
